Day 1
LILLAFURED / HUNGARY
Early departure from Budapest. First stop will be Gödöllö, favorite summer retreat of the Hapsburg family. Inside visit of the Baroque Palace Grassalkovich. Early afternoon arrival to Eger. Walking tour of the city after check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Lillafured, Hotel Palota. (D)
Day 2
TARCAL / HUNGARY
After breakfast drive among the castle-spotted hills of Zemplén. Short visit to the castle of Füzer. Afternoon arrival to Tokaj, one of the major wine regions of Hungary, the home of Aszu: King of the wines, wine of the kings. Taste the local specialties in one of the friendly cellars. Dinner and overnight in Tarcal, Grof Degenfeld Kastélyszalló. (B,D)
Day 3
SIMONTORNYA / HUNGARY
Early morning departure, as you have a long drive to Kecskemét, birthplace of the famous composer Zoltán Kodály and home of the esteemed music center named after him. Walking tour of the city. Continue by crossing Danube to Simontornya. Enjoy the wonderful spa facilities of your hotel. Dinner and overnight at the Fried Castle Hotel in Simontornya. (B,D)
Day 4
Balatonfüred / HUNGARY
Drive to Lake Balaton and take the ferry to Tihany with its Abbey church founded in 1055. Continue to Balatonfüred, the non-official capital of the Lake Balaton region. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Balatonfüred at the Anna Grand Hotel. (B,D)
Day 5
Hédervár / HUNGARY
After breakfast, depart to Pannonhalma Abbey, the oldest Hungarian building in existence. Guided tour of the Abbey. Continue to the beautiful Baroque and Neo- classic town of Győr. Continue to Fertőd, the Hunagarian Versailles and visit the Eszterhazy Castle. Dinner and overnight in Hédervár Castle Hotel. (B,D)
Day 6
Zalacsány / HUNGARY
After breakfast visit the historic Baroque town of Sopron, second richest Hungarian town in historic monuments. Continue to Kőszeg, walk around on Jurisics Square and visit St. James Church from the 14th century, Ambrozy House and Jurisics castle.
Short visit to the mighty castle of Sümeg and afternoon arrival to the castle of Zalacsány, where you can enjoy the spa facilities of the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Zalacsány, Batthányi Kastélyszállo. (B,D)
Day 7
BUDAPEST / HUNGARY
Travel along the Northern shore of Lake Balaton to Tihany Peninsula. Visit the Abbey church founded in 1055. Proceed to Herend, home of the world famous porcelain factory founded in 1839. Visit the factorys' museum. Continue to Veszprém, where you will see the Castle disctrict, Gizella Chapel and the Cathedral. Return to Budapest in the late afternoon hours, drop off at your selected hotels. (B)
